TXM China Consulting Director, Justin Tao, has been invited to talk at the Conference sessions being held as part of the 45th China International Pharmaceutical Machinery Exhibition (CIPM) in Qingdao in April.
TXM was an active participant in the Association for Manufacturing Excellence (AME) conference in Melbourne. The key theme of the the conference was how to Adapt, Survive and Thrive to the business environment in 2013. This is an area where TXM has broad expertise from the dozens of large and small manufacturers we have assisted to increase competitiveness over the past 8 years.
Thursday 13 December was the final event in a year long Leadership Development program for Geelong Manufacturers run by TXM and Roaring Success for the Geelong Manufacturing Council. The program sponsored by the Victorian Department of Business and Innovation, aimed to provide mid and senior level manufacturing leaders in Geelong a unique practical development opportunity.
One of our long time customers, Sykes Racing has put together a new corporate video featuring their factory and interviews with gold medal winning Olympic Rower, Drew Ginn. To me, the Sykes guys epitomize what manufacturing is all about – the customer. They are rowers first, boat builders second and this comes through in the passion that one of their most famous customers has for their boats.

TXM Lean Solutions Features in September Issue of Australian Manufacturing Technology Magazine As part of the September feature on Motorsport, AMT magazine commissioned an article from TXM Managing Director on how elite motorsport can provide lessons to manufacturers about how to create a culture of continuous improvement in business. TXM Managing Director will be travelling to Perth in September to present a seminar at a breakfast organised by the local chapter of the Association for Manufacturing Excellence (AME). Tim will provide Western Australian manufacturers, who are struggling with both intense low cost competition from overseas and the demands of the rapidly growing resources industry, ideas on how to improve the agility and competitiveness of their business. Tim will also present case studies on how lean manufacturing has helped Australian manufacturers to grow and compete on the world stage.
In July TXM Consulting Director, Anthony Clyne, conducted an interactive half day lean learning event at ladder manufacturer, Branach in Bayswater in Melbourne. Branach are a long time TXM customer (read our case study). and have done an outstanding job at implementing lean across their business. This has helped provide a platform them to double their sales over the past five years and significantly improve productivity and lead times.
TXM Managing Director, Tim McLean, is passionate about manufacturing in Australia. This passion and the poor media coverage the industry has received this year inspired Tim to establish a new blog on Linked In focused on creating an informed discussion on Australia’s Manufacturing Future
The end of June is the end of TXM’s financial year and saw the conclusion of the best every year for the 8 year old lean consulting business. The TXM business grew by over 50% in Australia, while our China business established a strong base for further growth in 2013.
TXM will be a major sponsor of the upcoming Lean Enterprise China Global Conference in Shanghai on June 6-8. TXM will be the sponsor of the conference dinner. TXM Consulting Director, Anthony Clyne will also be visiting China to attend the conference and will participate in a panel discussion with Professor Takahiro Fujimoto from Tokyo University on the challenges of implementing lean in China.
